A Taste of Greek Hospitality

A Taste of Greek Hospitality

• Meals & Drinks on a Gulet

On a gulet cruise, dining is part of the experience. From a relaxed breakfast to homemade Greek dishes by the sea, every meal has its own special flavor.

• What Meals & Drinks Can I Enjoy on a Gulet Cruise?

Sure, the turquoise waters and slow island-hopping are the highlights of any gulet cruise — but if you ask past guests what really surprised them, many will say: the food.

Here’s a quick, honest look at what meals and drinks you can expect while sailing.

Breakfast: Simple, Fresh & Satisfying

There’s something about starting your day on the water that makes breakfast feel special. Mornings onboard are relaxed, with a buffet-style spread that usually includes:

  • Freshly baked bread and pastries

  • Eggs, cereals, cold cuts, cheeses

  • Greek yogurt and seasonal fruit

  • Coffee, milk, and juice

It’s not overcomplicated — just good, fresh food to fuel your day.

Lunch & Dinner: Homemade Greek Flavors

Meals onboard focus on home-style Greek cooking — fresh, local, and comforting. Lunch and dinner often follow a simple 3-course format:

  • Starters (like cheese pies or stuffed vine leaves)

  • Fresh salads with seasonal ingredients

  • A main dish (moussaka, grilled chicken, pasta — it varies daily)

  • Light dessert or fresh fruit

Menus are flexible and adjusted daily, based on the group’s preferences and in coordination with the captain.

Drinks: Easy & Customizable

There are three main options for drinks onboard:

  • Pre-order your favorite drinks in advance

  • Order as you go from the onboard bar

  • Bring your own (with a small corkage fee)

Water is served free with all meals, and extra bottled water is available at a small charge.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Meals are generally Greek-style, served in a relaxed setting.

  • There’s no fixed meal schedule — it’s arranged daily around the group’s plan.

  • Outside food and drinks aren’t allowed unless pre-agreed (corkage applies).

It’s About More Than Food

Dining on a gulet is casual and communal. It’s about sharing meals at anchor, enjoying a quiet bay, or watching the sun go down with a glass of wine in hand. It’s simple, but it sticks with you — just like the rest of the trip.
